Welcome to Reaktor 2.3 Demo !

This demo includes both the Standalone Reaktor Application and the Reaktor VST-PlugIn Version.

Restrictions of the Demo Version

The demo is identical to the full version except the following restrictions:

-        30 minutes (VST-PlugIn: 15 minutes) testing period.

-        There is a short audio signal (beep) in the audio output once about every minute.

-        No saving of modules, instruments and ensembles.

-        Only a selection of NI Premium Library ensembles is included.

-        Only an excerpt of the library of macros and instruments is provided.

-        Cut, Copy and Paste functions are disabled.

-        The audio-file-export of the Tapedeck modules and the recorder is disabled.

-        Only files prepared for the demo version can be opened.

-        The VST Instrument PlugIn has only 2 Outputs. The full version offers 6 Outputs.

Quick Start Tips

-        After loading an ensemble, the snapshot selection menu will reflect the ensemble global snapshots.  If the menu appears empty, there are no global snapshots. Select one of the instruments by simply clicking on it and the snapshot selection menu will reflect the snapshots of the selected instrument.

-        The Premium Library contains ensembles, each of which has a corresponding MIDI file. After loading such an ensemble you can activate the MIDI file playback in the Settings menu by selecting ‘Play MIDI File.’ The file will be played when you press the black Start button in the tool bar.

-        If with one of the examples an CPU overload occurs on your system, please reduce the number of voices or the samplerate or mute parts of the structure (please refer to the Demo Manual for further explanations).

Midi and Audio configuration

-        Please select the Midi Input and Output device in the System – MIDI Settings menu.

-        You can control Reaktor by a Midi Sequencer Software by selecting the “Generator Midiport” in the list of available MME-Midiports.

-        Choose an Audio device in the System – Audio Port menu.

-        To optimize the Audio perfomance (response times!), configure your selected Audio-Port in the System – Audio Settings menu.

Reaktor as VST – PlugIn

-        The Reaktor VST PlugIn has the ensemble panel window, but you cannot edit the structure of the ensemble with the VST PlugIn.

-        The control changes of Reaktor VST effects are not recorded by the current version of Cubase (with a Reaktor VST instrument this works).

-        At this time, Reaktor VST cannot run with Logic. We are in cooperation with Emagic to solve this problem.

User Hints

-        We suggest to read the included Demo Manual which explains how to use Reaktor.
